Biography: Lou Van Dora
Lou is from the St. Simons, Brunswick, Golden Isles area. Graduating from Glynn Academy, and attending Georgia Southern on a golf scholarship. Lou started in the Atlanta scene in the Seventies and is still going strong.
Voted one of the top ten guitar players in Atlanta by Guitar Player magazine. Lou is known for his sweet tone, and tasteful licks that is truly something to hear!
He has been in the Atlanta area for more than thirty years, and has been the lead singer guitarist, keyboardist for Lou’s Blues Revue. Lou’s sound is clean and refreshing.



Lou teaches guitar to everyone from five year olds to eighty year olds. He has
a wonderful relationship with his students and they love his knowledge of guitar.
He really helps them learn quick and easy. As well as teaching them all about the
Instrument and care and maintaining the guitar. This really helps students in there
Journey of leaning to play.
Lou’s single and duo act is as good as it gets. Playing and singing the best of songs list, his backing tracks are superb. The best sound in Atlanta. Along with his great guitar playing his keyboards add the sound of 9 piece band. His selection of songs are of the utmost. From Marvin Gaye to Bruno Mars and all in between. You have to hear this artist to really appreciate his talent.
Starting his recording career, Lou wrote and recorded several albums with Rex Smith, Millie Jackson, Lou’s Blues Revue, William Bell to mention a few. Prior to these, Lou played John in “Beatlemania”, and spent the year with Rex Smith on the TV show “Solid Gold”. His touring of many years with the likes of Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, Foreigner, Derek St. Holmes, and Rush to name a few, has made him a seasoned player and singer.
Lou’s talents are of a rich and soulful background. He is one of the utmost professional, and talented players in the Atlanta music scene today.
Owning his own music store and nightclub in Atlanta has also helped Lou to understand the business as well as any other player in the city! Lou also has taught hundreds of kids guitar lessons for years on end. They love the way he teaches!
Lou has worked for Guitar Center off and on since 1998 and is still employed
at Gwinnett Guitar Center.
